Spring Grove Installation

Christ’s American Baptist Church in Spring Grove gathered for an Installation Service for Pastor Josh Trojak as the congregation’s new Senior Pastor. Dr. Frank Frischkorn brought the Charge to the Congregation.

Christmas is Coming!

It may be October... but Christmas will be here in a few more weeks! The folk at Gillett Baptist Church are getting ready as church leader DeEtta Antes and a group of students have begun working on their Christmas Cantata. Sing Noel!

Welcome, Pastor Randy!

A day of transitions, as Randy Burton took over the pastoral responsibilities at Sullivan State Road Baptist Church following the retirement of Rev. Sherri Butters. Randy did a great job both leading the worship service and preaching his first sermon as pastor of the church. Pastor Randy preached on a single verse, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled," praying for everyone in the congregation will have an appetite to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Grateful for this partner in ministry who has answered Jesus’ call to serve this rural but vibrant country church.

Meet Pastor Cheryl Filson

Meet Rev. Cheryl FIlson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Mansfield. Like many congregations, the folk at FBC Mansfield have been faithful throughout the pandemic, developing online worship and community outreach. Rev. Cheryl Filson also serves as President of our ABCOPAD Minister Council.

Welcome, Pastor Bruce!

Middlebury Center Baptist Church recently celebrated the call of their new pastor, Rev. Bruce Moses. The congregational leaders held an installation service as they formally welcomed Pastor Bruce and his wife Patty with numerous expressions of joy to God following a two year search.

Fresh Expressions

A number of ABCOPADers gathered together at the new Center For Life Long Learning (ABHMS headquarters) for a training event featuring Michael Beck, author of Fresh Expressions in a Digital Age. (It's an excellent book and Michael did a great job expounding on its contents. It was a valuable opportunity to learn new truths in the midst of this rapidly changing culture.

FBC Greensburg Installation

The congregation at First Baptist Church, Greensburg, gathered for a glorious celebration as Scott Jones was installed as their new pastor.

Leaders of the church and region participated, with Rev. Dr. Frank Frischkorn preaching.

Retreat To The Mountains 2021

It was a wonderful time to "Retreat to the Mountains," and the weather was beautiful. "Rest" was the theme. It was a great opportunity to met some new women who are leaders in their church.

 

With all of the stress in our world and challenges to everyone’s mental health, you might think the Women In Ministry retreat was “heavy” and “serious,” but you would be mistaken. There was joy and laughter and a spirit of “fun” that permeated the lodge.

Lights, Camera, Action

At Lower Providence Baptist Church, it's still a work in progress but here's a couple pics of their new AV equipment thanks to the ABCOPAD grant. The church was able to get a new laptop, a PTZ camera with a joystick controller, and all of the peripheral wiring equipment to hardwire from the sanctuary to the first floor classrooms and nursery. There was even enough left over to buy the materials to build a new console desk for the equipment. WOW!

Blossburg Baggage

At FBC, Blossburg, the AB Ladies gave another suitcase headed for Brazil. Our AB Women have been absolutely amazing responding to the request for Thrift Shop items to help IM Missionary Corenne Smith and Hope Unlimited ministering in Brazil. There are so many great partners in ministry throughout ABCOPAD!

Let us arise and build

At New Hope Church in Broomall, Rev. Jeff Evans shows their new gym build. Despite the fact the gym, kitchen area, and bathrooms in the new structure are not yet complete, community groups are already approaching the church to rent the space.
