WELCOME!

Congrats to Pastor Jeff Landfried.  For the past 10 years, Jeff has been serving as the Associate Pastor/Administrator at the First Baptist Church of Greenville. With the summer time departure of their previous pastor, Pastor Jeff was called upon to serve as interim. This past Sunday, at the church's annual business meeting, a formal and official call was extended by the congregation to Pastor Jeff to become their next senior minister. Prior to a call to ministry, Pastor Jeff worked outside the church in a family business. Pastor Jeff is a graduate of our regional school of ministry (ACTS) and has been and remains an active and supportive partner in ministry both personally and congregationally. He more recently received his permanent standing as a Certified Lay Minister.

Did you hear about the church that hired TWO amazing pastors? Watsontown Baptist Church did! It was a joyous and exciting day as the congregation welcomed its new Pastors Dave Jones and Josh Wallace with a small installation service.  God is good!

Members and friends of White Hall Baptist Church joined together to bid a happy retirement to Pastor Robert Ayars. A delicious lunch was served followed by an opportunity for the congregation and family members to thank Pastor Bob and Judi for the 12+ years of service at White Hall Baptist.

Welcome Pastor Sarah

WELCOME!

At Royersford Baptist Church the Rev. Sarah Stroshal-Kagi was installed as their new pastor. The service was a hybrid of onsite and online.  Previously, Pastor Sarah worked several years on ABC Home Mission Societies' staff, where she headed up the focus on younger generations and emerging leaders. A number of the leaders participated, from within the church family as well as well as from within our ABCUSA family. 

PCC Kids Club

The Pleasant Community Church, Warren, recently started a pair of new, weekly youth programs aimed at providing a “healthy outlet” for kids. The programs serve children in Kindergarten through 12th grade and run every Wednesday at PCC. The Kids Club is for K-5th graders, while Youth Group serves 6th-12th grades. “The program was launched to provide a safe and supportive space for kids and youth to gather and grow in faith and maturity,” Pastor James A. Swanson. “It’s serving as a wonderful and healthy outlet for the challenges and stresses we’re all under, including our young people.”

Great Bethel Celebration

Congratulations to the Great Bethel Baptist Church in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1770 and celebrating its 250th anniversary, this is the oldest Baptist church of all churches west of the Allegheny Mountains having been founded six years before the Declaration of Independence and many more years before the county and town itself existed.

Trick or Treat Covid-Style

Halloween might look different this year, but Muncy Baptist Church was hard at work preparing for its annual outreach to share some candy and the hope of the Gospel with kids and teens this year. Because of Covid they needed a way to deliver candy to kids that was both fun and safe, so they called handy man Ken Gottschall to craft a candy shoot and Felicia Sheets helped decorate it for us. Trick or Treat!

Introducing Rev. Chris Hamilton

On All Saints Day, November 1, Rev. Eric Kraihanzel and the church family at FBC Lansdale gathered for the Ordination Service for Rev. Christopher Hamilton. Many members of the Lansdale Church family along with Central Union pastoral leaders, Pastor Chris’ LLC members, people from FBC Bethlehem / Camp Ichthus, and from our ABCOPAD Region joined Pastor Chris’ family to celebrate his ordination. 

What a joy as one of our Regional Ministry Associates (for Students) entered into ordained ministry.
