Boy Scouts at Bethel Baptist
Jeff Johnson, ABCOPAD Regional Pastor with Congregations, filled in for Rev. Don Walls, interim at Great Bethel Baptist in Uniontown, PA, due to being ill. As part of the service, Jeff got the opportunity to recognize, one Boy Scout to another, Evan Klatt, a senior in Uniontown High School, who has earned his rank of Eagle Scout upon the completion of his project.
After the church service was over, the congregation gathered out in front of their building to raise the American flag on the pole and monument that Evan had constructed in honor/memory of Great Bethel veterans. In Great Bethel's case, that includes soldiers who fought in the American Revolution since the church was founded in 1770, the oldest Baptist church of any type of Baptist west of the Allegheny Mountains. Jeff's wife Karen led the gathered in singing our national anthem.
Here are Evan and Jeff, who is sporting his own Boy Scout medals from when he was in scouting more years ago than he wants to count.

A few weeks later, Eric was awarded the rank of Eagle at a Court of Honor. Congratulations!
