Target Your Giving - New Ministries

You can now be more specific with your giving
by "Targeting" one of ABCOPAD's NEW MINISTRIES

In addition to your faithful giving to United Mission, there are a number of other ways to target your giving in mission support.

Below you will find a number of significant ministries in our regional family of ABCOPAD that can benefit from your gifts on Line 9/Specifics of the monthly remittance form submitted by your Church Treasurer. Perhaps one or a number of them will touch your heart with a call from the Spirit to give?.

Evangelism... Project 3:
A student ministry "disciplevangelism" process seeking to develop strategies and a cooperative plan to reach the next generation for Jesus Christ. Project 3 is a three-phased strategy.

  • Phase 1: reach pastors and adults to provide training and encouragement.
  • Phase 2: reach student leaders equipping them in discipleship and outreach.
  • Phase 3: reach out to share the Gospel with those who do not know Jesus Christ.

Scholarship Funding
:
We know that persons without a church home are more likely to join a new church or a new ministry.   To establish new churches and ministries we need to train several new leaders.  A planting pastor's institute is being established to provide the specialized training, and your contributions would fund scholarships for persons engaged in that study.

New Church Planting:

Here's a chance to give to a specific New Church Plant if you feel called to do so. For a complete listing of new congregations in your area, please contact your Area Minister.

American Baptist Historical Society:

The archives of the American Baptist Historical Society holds the largest collection of Baptist resources in the world. The archives are the official repository for original manuscripts, church records, artifacts, correspondence, and printed reports of the denomination's major boards, organizations, and regions (i.e., ABCOPAD).

State Parks Ministr
y:

Christian outreach at Tuttle Point in Pymatuning State Park offers inter-denominational worship and evangelistic mission in a campground setting. Surrounded by the beauty of creation, they are invited to worship God without the walls that can separate us from one another. Campers of all ages come from a wide variety of religious backgrounds, including those who have never attended a church or heard the Gospel message. What a blessing it is to offer the love of Jesus and change lives!

Mission Tour Scholarships:
Have you heard the testimonies of our short-term mission workers lately? These lives have been drastically changed forever! Listen to testimonies by our youth:

  •  I wouldn't trade in the memories or the things I saw and learned for anything in the world."
  • When we walked through there I was really upset by what I saw (the living conditions) but the people showed me that possessions aren't what make you happy."
  • It was a trip that seriously changed my life. I have learned a lot about life and I didn't want to come home."

Regional ministries of the member churches of the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania & Delaware are made possible in large part by our collective, mission giving to the category of United Mission.  As your Executive Minister, I am very grateful for your participation in our various Regional ministries and for your financial support of these ministries through your regular giving to United Mission as well as these targeted mission opportunities.  Together we work diligently to provide effective ministries with our member churches.  Together we hope that our cooperative efforts will enable ministries in our local churches and will strengthen our witness for Christ in our communities, in our ABCOPAD region, in our country and throughout the world.  The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) continues to lead and inspire us. Rev. Frank Frischkorn, Executive Minister
