Our “Why”
Our Region is dedicated to empowering pastors and local churches by providing the vital resources necessary to fulfill the Great Commission and Jesus' call to bring the Kingdom of God to their communities and beyond, and to build partnerships that will spread the Gospel to all nations. (Matt 28:18-20).
We respect the autonomy and self-governance of the local church. At the same time, we believe we are far more effective through partnership. Therefore, we choose to unite around the key understandings of our shared faith, staying focused on the Great Commission and working in the Kingdom of God by sharing a hope only Jesus can offer. (Ephesians 4-6)
United by faith and guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek to strengthen relationships with our local churches and pastors, while cultivating partnerships with organizations both inside and outside of the American Baptist family. In all things, we strive to honor and glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as we further God’s work in His Kingdom. (Colossians 3:17)
