Honor
Review by Pastor Dan MacDonald
"The author claims to have discovered a subject in scripture that is under noticed and under practiced in the Christian Church. I believe he is correct. The word in the church is one that is not recognized nor taught very often. It is a word that needs practiced by both laity and leadership if the Body of Christ is going to put into reality the claim of being ‘Christ-like.’ Honor. The book can probably be utilized by smaller groups within the church, such as Deacons and Elders for studying their roles, and as check-ups on their to do lists. I highly recommend it to all serious believers."

Discovering Wisdom in Proverbs
Review by Pat Wells, Willow Grove BC, an online participant
"When I saw the invite for an in person and online Proverbs Bible study, I was curious how exactly that would work. Needing the online option, I wondered if I would feel connected. I read Proverbs over the years, it’s clear guidance and short folksy common-sense verses and thought, I could use a wisdom refresher! I soon realized I realized I needed more than a refresher. It was a different delivery for sure, but it worked well for me. I was able to make my own study schedule and the workbook (Discovering Wisdom in Proverbs) kept me on task and provided the pace: 10 weeks 5 days a week. With the Facebook chats and Jodie’s summaries and challenging posts I did feel a fellowship connection even though miles apart. The study book offered different avenues for learning: beautiful coloring verses, poem writing, and verse analysis. “Experiencing scripture creatively” they call it. This was new to me and initially it seemed very elementary. But soon I realized how valuable the process was. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs. 1:7) It all hinges on this. The verse analysis really made The Word pop out at me. Circling, underlining and boxing key text in each verse. For example, here underline the benefits of wisdom. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair - every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. (Proverbs 2:9) I could hear the Holy Spirit saying, ‘Hey! Look at this, let this soak in, all of it.’ I was certainly blessed by the deep dive into Proverbs and clear Holy Spirit reinforcement through God’s Word to my heart, over and over. I was challenged and humbled, right on time, in areas like seeking wisdom in uncertainty and handling adversity. And then my heart rested in Him - because seeking wisdom, knowing God’s Word, enters, heals and guards my heart."

Psalm 23 The Shepherd with Me – Jennifer Rothschild
Review by Jamie Wagner
“Psalms 23 Bible Study was introduced to me while at the 2024 ABCOPAD Women’s Ministries THRIVE retreat. Attending a number of Psalms 23 studies, hearing numerous sermons, this is one of the most insightful studies I’ve encountered. As each lesson begins, Jennifer meets us in a video and gives insight to the lesson for the week. The reading for each day was personal and self-examining. As our small group met weekly, we became closer sharing some of our life stories; revealing how our Shepherd had brought us through dark valleys, and now showing us how to rest. Do you want to find that Green pasture?”
