Daryl Mosley In Concert

It was an absolute awesome evening of music, praise, testimony, and fellowship at Lower Providence Baptist Church as we hosted Grand Ole Opry veteran Daryl Mosley. Daryl has an amazing talent of being able to turn life experiences into song while sharing his faith in the process.

Egg Drop Extravaganza

Several ABCOPAD congregations participated in the HUGE community egg drop at the Waynesburg airport where 12 churches participated. Our own WWJD and FBC Waynesburg were a part if the event. 2000-2500 people attended and 50,000 eggs dropped for all ages. Christian music was playing  as churches had booths set up along with food available. Great opportunity for the community! May God be glorified as these churches continue to work together for the Kingdom!

St. David's Day

There is a large population of Welsh immigrants in the Scranton community, and Sunday marked the observance of St. David’s Day, (the patron saint of Wales) at the United Baptist Church of Taylor. Lead Pastor, Rev. David Barrett did a great job both recognizing the day as well as preaching a solid message from Luke 9, lifting up the need for each of us to take up our cross and follow Jesus. The service concluded with Communion.

Day of Love

Working on a Women’s Mission Project, ladies of the Olive Branch Baptist Church created on Valentines cards for the “Day of Love” for an orphanage/school in Brazil. Each of the 125 students will receive a personalized card. It was an enjoyable time full of laughter and friendship. Being the hands & feet of Jesus!

Diamond Jubilee

Friends and members of Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Dover, DE, gathered to celebrate its 60th Anniversary of work, witness, worship in the community. Pastor Jeff Collins delivered the message "Legacy" (which included a number of "volunteers" who demonstrated how a cathedral is built with flying buttresses! It was hysterical!!!) A grand day!

Planning For The Future

The search committee and leadership of Colonial Park Community Baptist Church gathered for an afternoon of dreaming. As CPCBC is preparing to call their next pastor, they wanted to drill deeply into WHO they are (what gifts & passions has God uniquely gifted them with) and WHERE they are (what opportunities for making disciples exist right within their neighborhood). A conversation that began by naming limitations quickly became one focused on opportunities & possibilities. By the end they had created a list of exciting, concrete ideas for blessing and building relationship with their neighbors!

Shalom

Bud and Carol Russell welcomed several dozen fellow travelers to an Experience Israel Orientation Meeting. There are 48 folk going to the Holy Land in May. It was a great opportunity to get acquainted with each other. Carol provided all the nitty-gritty details of the trip (flight info, accommodations, packing tips, etc), Bud spoke of the daily schedule and opportunities for personal spiritual development. The program also included several excellent devotional video clips from locations in Israel.

The day started with what could best be called a "Human Scavenger Hunt"

Lots of information shared about the sacred places they will be touring.

It was a full day of sharing. For lunch... what else? ... Carol made several gallons of matzah ball soup! Delicious!
