ACTS Graduate: Deb Copeland

Kudos to Deb Copeland, a recent ACTS Graduate. who received her diploma. ACTS Dean, Rev. Eleanor Siegrist presented the diploma while Rev. Jim Ritter (former ACTS Council Chair and Theology Instructor) presided over the service.

Online Ordination ... (Sort of!)

Dr. Jeff Johnson did a great job facilitating the online Ordination Council for Bob Keiderling held at FBC Bethlehem. While Dr. Jeff facilitated the online council group, Rev. David Hardin facilitated the in-person council members. It was great getting to know Bob and hearing his faith journey as well as his current mission endeavors including ministry to truckers in need.

And He Gave Some... Pastors

It was a great time of worship and fellowship as the congregation of the Union Baptist Church of Swissvale gathered to ordain to the Gospel Ministry the Reverend Jacquelyn M. Lewis. God bless you as you do the work of a preacher of the good news and perform your whole duty as a servant of God.

Thanks, Mom!

At FBC Shinglehouse, the kids' Sunday school class continued their lessons on the prophet Elisha. They learned about the woman from Shunem whose son died. God used Elisha to bring the boy back to life as told in 2 Kings 4. We learned how God will always be there to help us through our sorrows and disappointments and our joys. After the lesson, the kids had a project to spread some joy to women in their lives. Gift bags were made with candy and hand sanitizer. The kids were instructed to give these to women in their lives who are special to them.

Did Someone Say Cookies?

The American Baptist Women's Group at Hepburn Baptist Church baked cookies and distributed them to 9 local First Responder agencies (Fire, Police and EMS) as a "thank you" for their service and sacrifice to the community.

Buon appetito!

Rev. Mark McCallion, Pastor at Weslellyville Baptist and ABCOPAD President, spent an afternoon piling on pasta, meatballs, and sauce (that looks so delicious). The church diaconate hosted a Free Drive-Thru Spaghetti Dinner. Wow! What a great opportunity to reach out to our community.

I Did! I Did!

It was such a beautiful day today, and just as the LORD has shined on their 40 years together, so the LORD blessed Dan and Terri McDowell [GraceCrossing, Phoenixville] with a glorious day to celebrate their anniversary. It was such a joy to be with them and a number of dear friends who gathered to support them in the celebration!

I Do! I Do!

Bud Russell [ABCOPAD Web Coordinator RMA] had the unique opportunity of officiating at the wedding of a young man whom he had previously dedicated in 1998. Way back then, Bud was serving as pastor to a PBA congregation in Philadelphia, and the groom's family was an active part of the church. Thanks to Facebook connection, plans were made to reconnect in Delaware. And so the story goes...

Let The Little Children Come

In recent weeks, First Baptist Church of Three Springs welcomed a number of newborns into their fellowship and parents presented themselves and their children to the Lord in acts of Dedication. The words of scripture come to mind: "Remember this! The Lord -- and the Lord alone -- is our God. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Never forget these commands. Teach them to your children."
