YOUTH LEADER MINISTRY POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.
• Help youth to begin to grow in their love and walk with Jesus Christ.
• Have a degree in or working towards a degree in Youth Ministry or Christian Education.
• Computer/Internet skills including social media.
• Background checks are required!

 

DESCRIPTION:

• To oversee present programs and develop new programs and activities for youth within the congregation, with the idea of “growing” the youth group in numbers.
• To be present at church on Sundays. (Youth leader is not required to teach youth class but may be asked at some time or another.)
• Lead Youth Group on Sunday nights with the assistance from youth advisors.
• 1st and 3rd Thursdays – Prepare lesson and lead Young adult Bible Study.
• Make oneself available to youth within and outside of church.
• Talk with pastor on a regular basis concerning goals and ideas for the youth- We are aware and understand that this is part time and sometimes flexibility is needed.
• Submit monthly report to church board

 

HOURS AND SALARY:

• 10 HOURS per week
• $15.00/hr. for student/ $20.00/hr. for Bachelor or Associate Degree.
• Youth ministry expenses - $1000.00/year
• Beginning Date: June but can wait till the beginning of the new school year.

 

WHO WE ARE:

New Hope Christian Church is a merger of two Baptist churches. In October of 2013, the members of Belmont Baptist and Middletown Baptist merged together for the purpose of doing ministry jointly with the belief that this gave us the best opportunity and ability to reach more people for Jesus Christ.

Our vision at New Hope Christian Church is to guide people to begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray for and want to assist people in their spiritual journey and walk with Jesus. With this emphasis, we want to give people the opportunity to experience the presence and power of Almighty God within their lives. Because of this, we offer a variety of opportunities for all ages that emphasize this growth. We offer many adult, youth and family activities both in and outside of church which include; home Bible study groups, youth meetings and social events, book studies, prayer and praise time, family social nights, community outreach events and coffee hour fellowship throughout the week and month.

Our morning worship service is for people to experience the presence and power of Almighty God in their lives. Because of this, we have a blended service of both praise choruses and traditional music. We also emphasize the power of prayer, the Word of God and what it says to us today.
