Coming Together for New Jersey . . . Rebuild, Restore, Renew: July 2020
Hurricane Sandy devastated New Jersey when it hit the East Coast in 2012. Join American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) and American Baptist Churches of New Jersey (ABCNJ) in hands-on efforts to rebuild homes, communities and lives, while encouraging and supporting those in need and worshiping with ABCNJ congregations.
Home Mission: ’Til the Work is Done: July 26-Aug. 1, 2020
Fifteen years after hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast, residents continue restoration efforts. The faith community was there as first responders. We will continue to be there for survivors of these storms until the work is done. Come to New Orleans, as we worship, witness and work together to help those in need, as they rebuild their homes, churches, communities and lives.
Rebuilding, Restoring, Renewing . . . the Midwest: Ongoing
In March 2019, an extratropical cyclone caused the blizzard over the Midwestern United States that brought flooding and tornadoes. Join us as we help to rebuild and assist those impacted in the area.
Rebuilding, Restoring, Renewing Puerto Rico: Ongoing
Join ABHMS and Iglesias Bautistas de Puerto Rico for ongoing volunteer service, as we seek to rebuild, restore and renew the hurricane- and earthquake-ravaged island. Your gifts of time, energy and hands-on work are greatly needed and appreciated in restoring Corporación Milagros del Amor, Seminario Evangélico de Puerto Rico, churches, schools, missions and homes.
Rebuilding, Restoring, Renewing . . . Panama City, Fla.: Ongoing
In 2018, Hurricane Michael caused catastrophic damage and widespread devastation in the Florida Panhandle and the contiguous United States. Panama City was one of the locations that was severely impacted. Gone are many of the homes, churches, schools and businesses that once existed in this close-knit community. Panama City needs our time and talents, as we represent the hands and feet of Jesus to this community.
Rebuilding, Restoring, Renewing . . . Texas: Ongoing
When Category 4 Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Texas coast in August 2017, it brought with it 130-mph winds and torrential rain. The result was flooding, power outages, downed trees and signs, major property damage, displaced residents, injuries and fatalities. Join us as we help to rebuild and assist those impacted in the area.
Neither construction skills nor training is required.
