American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware

Partnering with Puerto Rico

ABWM of Pennsylvania and Delaware

2019 Regional Project

With the recent devastation in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, you may be wondering where to begin helping and how to help. We have something special to share with you!

Iglesias Bautista de Masas II Gurabo’s congregation of around 20 people live in a small rural area in the mountains of Puerto Rico. Being a new church plant from the larger city of Gurabo, they were excited about their new church building on the mountain side. After Hurricane Maria swept through their country, all that was left of their little church was the concrete bathrooms, and even that had no roof left. This small church that had been built in 1996 lost everything due to the devastating power of Hurricane Maria.

The American Baptist Women’s Ministries of Pennsylvania and Delaware are coming along side to help rebuild their church. The project is going to take many years to complete, because it is a ‘from the ground up service project’ where everything will have to be replaced.

Your Leadership TEAM is very excited about this project and how it was handpicked especially for us! We are blessed to be able to raise money for this project AND we will have many opportunities to be the hands-on work teams in mission to Masas.

How you can help...
