God does have a fresh vision for each church family that is springing up in our midst, and He longs for us to see it and respond. The challenge that we sometimes face is how to blend different generations within our congregations in that common mission. We want to be united in faith and purpose but at times it feels like we speak a different 'language' as older and younger believers struggle to come together in ministry.
These are challenging issues, and so we've enlisted the help of Dr. Jolene Erlacher to help us learn how to engage across generations in our work for the Kingdom.
Jolene is an author, speaker, and consultant at Leading Tomorrow (www.leadingtomorrow.org). She specializes in generational trends and inter-generational leadership. Jolene's education background includes a graduate certificate in International Leadership. Her doctorate is in Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. She has written two books: Millennials in Ministry and Daniel Generation: Godly Leadership in an Ungodly Culture. Jolene was a missionary kid and speaks Spanish. She has volunteered and studied in various countries including Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Kenya, and South Africa. Jolene lives in central NC with her husband, twin daughters and their dog Rex.

A new way to hold a Biennial
- to convey the new thing that God is doing in our lives...
OK, so BLC 2020 won't be the same as previous years. We won't be gathering face-to-face in Altoona and we won't be able to enjoy fellowship with one another in the same way. That being said, we still CAN come together using the blessings of technology for some encouraging times of fellowship and inspiration.
Our plan is to hold a series of four two-hour sessions on October 3,8,15 and 22 where we will not only be guided by Dr. Erlacher in how to strengthen our ministry across the generations, but we will also have the chance to worship together, hear God's Word proclaimed and learn the exciting ways God is working in the lives of churches across our regional family.
