COVID-19 CHURCH RECOVERY
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of us have been affected on a variety of levels:
- The lives of families have been disrupted through ‘shelter in place’ orders with children finding their classroom moved to their dining room table.
- Countless businesses have been forced to close their doors while the ‘shelter in place’ orders are in effect, causing many of them to furlough their employees for the foreseen future.
- All of us are ‘on edge’ as we battle an unseen enemy that has taken the lives of nearly 4000 individuals in the two states of Pennsylvania and Delaware alone.
- Churches have made the decision to cease in-person worship to limit the spread of the virus, and while there have been creative and exciting initiatives in online worship, many congregations have found the financial support from their church family to be smaller than needed to cover the expenses of ongoing ministry.
In response to the unprecedented and unique situation the churches of ABCOPAD find themselves in due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABCOPAD Regional Board has made a decision to suspend the usual fall 2020 grant cycle and instead redeploy those funds to provide emergency bridge grants to help sustain staff support disrupted by closures due to the Coronavirus.
** Please note**
It is our goal to help the churches most in need, therefore those congregations who have received assistance through the Paycheck Protection Program will not be eligible.
With the anticipated number of submissions, grant requests will not exceed $2500.00.
**Deadline for receipt of application is June 30, 2020.
