Rev. Allan Campbell Honored
At Palmer Theological Seminary

Saturday, May 17th,  2008, was a day of celebration, for Rev. Allan Campbell, his family and friends, at the 83rd graduation ceremony of Palmer Theological Seminary.  Rev. Campbell was recognized for the important work he has committed his life to while pastoring a small congregation in Glen Campbell, PA for over 35 years.  President Smith spoke as he conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity on Rev. Campbell and said, “today represents Palmer Seminary’s desire to commend and affirm the unrecognized ministries of countless thousands of women and men who have been called by God to reflect God’s presence and to provide pastoral ministry in smaller congregations.”
The morning started with a breakfast with family, friends and faculty at the Seminary for Rev. Campbell and Rev. David Roy Coffey, President of the Baptist World Alliance who was also conferred with an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity.  The graduation ceremony was held at the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA. where Rev. Coffey gave the commencement address.  The commencement program highlighted Rev. Campell’s numerous contributions to the ministries and work of the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware through many years of serving on the ABCOPAD Board and chairing several committees and commissions.  Rev. Campbell’s wife Dorothy and his three daughters, their husbands and family were present to share in this special time.  It was noted that while Rev. Campbell is involved in many activities and organizations, his primary focus has always been First Baptist, Glen Campbell.
