It was a challenging theme - Unplug the World and Plug into Christ. All of us had to take a closer look at what threatens to take over our lives and sometimes leaves little room for us to stay connected with our Creator. Could we get by without our cell phones, computers and mp3 players? On Wednesday we even made an attempt to use no electricity. The campers responded well and did their best. Everyone got a chance to go on hikes and spend some time in contemplation. In our "Bible Rap" groups we talked about what things keep us from staying connected spiritually. We looked at different forms of prayer and Bible study.
Many of the games and activities were designed to help us work together as a team. The low ropes course is specially designed for that and to also teach a spiritual lesson. The climbing tower also is designed to show how we can depend on each other to help us to the top! Each day concluded with a special campfire and time for reflection. It was a young group of teens who can look forward to quite a few more years together at HTH and it looks like they intend to make the most of any opportunity that comes their way to stay PLUGGED IN! It was a great camp!
