Course Description: Baptist History and Polity -An introduction to the origin of the Baptists and the resulting church organization. After a brief introduction to early church history and the Reformation, this course will focus on the history of Baptists, both in England and America. The course will include discussion about the organization of a Baptist church with an emphasis on pastoral leadership. (Course is for-credit, auditing for no credit is available online at half-price.)

(A limited amount of lodging is availableat no cost. Make your requests early,
preference goes to those coming from the longest distances. Some of the
rooms can accommodate spouses. You are responsible for meals; there are
restaurants in the area. Once the rooms are filled, there are a number of local
motels where you could stay, at your own expense.)

NOTE: Students will be notified if textbooks are required. As CLI no longer buys textbooks, we recommend purchasing them from an online bookstore such as Amazon.com.
The weekend CEU format was designed to enable students to complete the requirements for ordination/certification in a short period of time. These courses are intensives. Required reading and other preparation must be done prior to the beginning of the first class session. Deadlines for final papers will be strictly adhered to.
