AB Men Travel To Galveston TX for Hurricane Disaster Relief

We will leave for Galveston, TX on Sunday January 10th to help with the recovery from
Hurricane Ike. We plan to return on January 24th. The American Baptist Men of Pennsylvania
and Delaware are sending five. One from Delaware and four from Pennsylvania. Representing
four Church's.

Just a report, regarding the 5 men on the Diaster Relief Team.  They arrived safely in Galveston at 5:30 p.m. Monday evening.  They are housed in a dormitory with other volunteers and are promised three meals a day as well as a "drive to the job sites".  Bud will be doing electrical work, some will be  using chain saws to take down trees and others are doing dry wall...other assignments will follow.  Thank you to the many who "prayed them down". Prayers continue for safety as they work.  Blessings! Grace

Just an update on the "crew" in Galveston.  They are wearing shorts and t - shirts....oh groan! (Currently below zero temps in ABCOPAD Region)   Plenty of work for them.  This weekend they will go to the other side of the "island" and view more of the devastation.  Three hundred college kids arrived to work...instead of going to Ft Lauderdale for their "break" they chose to come and help clean -up.   Grace

An update on the "crew" in Galveston TX.  On Sunday they traveled to Huston(76 degrees!) to worship at Joel Olsteen's church.  It was an experience to say the least.  Still working in jean shorts and t shirts.  They've done a great deal of clearing of debris and drywalling...and of course , electrical work.  A ferry boat took them to the other side of the island to view what appeared like a war-zone.  They are planning to leave Thursday evening and hope to arrive home Saturday evening. We're praying them home, please join us.  Thank you so much.   Grace

Latest Email Message:   It occurred to me that I might not have sent you a praise!  In the midst of our joy of the safe arrival of the Diaster Relief team from Texas.  From their reports...they worked hard and accomplished more than expected....and they were weary but rejoicing in the LORD.  God is faithful.  We praise and thank Him and we thank the many who prayed for the team.  In Christ, Grace
