Wasn't this called
"The ABCOPAD Regional Offering"?
Why the name change to
"ABCOPAD-Partners in Ministry"?
Yes, you're right. There has been a name change.
The reason for the change is two-fold:
1. Our ministry together really is one of Partnership, and so it was felt that it would be better to have the name reflect more of what we're about as an ABCOPAD Family.
2. The second reason flows from the need. Given some of the financial realities that have arisen with the decrease of United Mission support, our regional family is in need of ongoing, consistent support from the churches in order to continue our ministry together. To describe this mission support as an 'offering' would be to suggest that the focus is only for a limited time (such as with the America For Christ Offering). The reality is that our regional family needs the ongoing and increasing support of the churches on a monthly basis.
