FBC Glen Campbell Strawberry Festival
STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL!

A short follow-up to the Strawberry Festival held at FBC Glen Campbell. It brought several new families and guests to visit the church for sacred worship. It rained up until 9:30 am and started again about 4:40 pm. Our festival was from noon to 3:30 so the weather was fine. We had about 300 attend, and about 40 church members work to help make it a success. More men involved than ever. Excellent home made food and four big party tents. Lots of pictures taken and will be posted soon. Tickets for everything offered were 50 cents each, so the strawberry shortcake made with large fresh strawberries, home made cake, ice cream and whipped cream were $2.50 or 5 tickets. We grossed over $1,250 over all with the average person, including children, spending just about $4.25. We kept everything affordable so everyone in our poverty stricken community could come and have fun and find it affordable. We had free face painting for children, and at least 100 nice door prizes to give away to ticket buyers. Live music was provided by The Country Friends, a group of 7 including my brother Glenn. The purpose of the Festival in the church's lawn is to bring people together for fellowship, fun, to see the church as welcoming, alive, and active. The profits will be used for outreach ministries. Our church is rather a young group, and the festival was filled with people of all ages, including many young families with children.
