The Reverend Dale R. Miller honored with
Doctor of Divinity Degree by
Palmer Theological Seminary

At the 87th Commencement Ceremony of the Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University held on May 19, 2011 at Enon Baptist Temple, Philadelphia, PA, Dale R. Miller was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree. Dale is a graduate of both Eastern University and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University). Dale has done additional graduate and post‐graduate studies in the fields of Sociology, Biblical Studies and Ministry.
Dale was recognized for his high commitment to the service of Christ and His Church. In 1982 Dale was ordained as an American Baptist pastor. Dale has a passion for discipleship which has been seen in his commitment to youth, excellence as a pastor‐teacher and educator. Dale has mentored many who have sensed a call to ministry through their early stages of pastoral development and ministry placement. For 12 years he served as a pastoral supervisor for interns from Palmer Seminary. Dale also served the American Baptist Churches of PA & DE for 8 years as the Southeast Area Minister. Currently, Dale serves the First Baptist Church, Bethlehem, PA as Senior Pastor. First Baptist/Bethlehem is a growing, missional congregation with a strong focus on intentional discipleship and dynamic worship. First Baptist Church is in the top 20 nationally in support and partnership with International Ministries of American Baptist Churches, USA.
Dale is a frequent conference and retreat speaker addressing the topics of Growing Vital Healthy Congregations, Living Worship, The Missional Church and Clergy Ethics. Dale has written numerous articles on these ministry areas. Recently, he authored an article on Pastoral Authority published in the spring 2012 edition of Minster Magazine (American Baptist Minister’s Council).
Dale is married to his lovely wife, Debbie and the proud father of 3 grown children and grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters.
