The Fifty Churches - Fifty Children Program

Every November, during National Adoption Month, Bethany Christian Services and the Mid-Atlantic Orphan Coalition sponsor a program known as the Fifty Churches-Fifty Children Program. The goal is to find 50 evangelical churches willing to pray for fifty orphans during National Adoption Month. The program is now in its third year, and for the first time, we have 50 churches participating (actually 51), including six churches from ABCOPAD (The Baptist Church of Phoenixville, First Baptist Conshohocken, First Baptist Bethlehem, First Baptist Hollidaysburg, Plymouth Valley Community, and Trinity Baptist in Scranton) - Thanks to all the ABCOPAD churches that helped the Coalition reach its goal!
The way it works is this: every participating church is asked to pray for four children. The church receives pictures of the children that they may place in bulletins or otherwise use to keep the children in the minds of its people. During the month, in worship services, in small groups, or just on their own, people are asked to pray for the kids. It is a very simple program, but through the power of prayer, it has the power to move mountains, and to help children find the forever families they long for.
