Our Adoption Story
Our story: Our journey started in earnest in September 2007, when, after a few months of praying about the possibility of adoption, we attended our first informational meeting held by Bethany Christian Services (the nation's largest private adoption agency). We were at first looking to adopt internationally, but as we learned more and more about adoption, we felt God leading us to adopt domestically. The following July we brought home our precious gift, Kaeleigh Isabella.
Ours is an open adoption, which means that we know Kaeleigh's birthmother and get to see her from time to time. The relationship we have formed with her and her family has been one of the surprise blessings of entering into the adoption world. In addition to the joy of having a little one to love and care for, we have experienced manifestations of God's love in a myriad of ways that are almost impossible to describe here on a webpage (so we won't even try - but give us a call and we'll tell you all about why we think open adoption is so wonderful!). Let's just say for the moment that we wouldn't have it any other way. Life with Kaeleigh is a life filled with grace upon grace, and we thank God for the miracle he has wrought in our lives every day. God puts families together in any number of amazing and wonderful ways, and for us, we sure are glad he did it just as he did. We relish life in the tapestry of grace he continues to weave for us as an adoptive forever family.
