Adoption for Life Ministries at
the Baptist Church of Phoenixville
We have a vision for adoption and orphan care ministry for our church and for the entire region! Our dream is to create a ministry that God can use to create forever families for waiting children in Phoenixville, and throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware. We dream of partnering with churches throughout ABCOPAD to make this vision for ministry a reality not only in our local church, but in churches throughout the region.
Currently, through our church, we are involved in a number of
endeavors that fall under our Adoption for Life Ministry:
- Participation in panel discussions at Bethany
seminars for prospective adoptive parents
- Participation in the 50 churches 50 children program
- Safe quilt ministry providing blankets for children
in Foster Care in Southeast Pennsylvania
- Host events that spotlight the plight of the orphan and
raise funds for Orphan Care Ministry (such as the
African Children's Choir Concert we hosted in December 2009).
- Hope for Children Bulletin Board that spotlights children
in the U.S. and overseas currently waiting for forever families
- Partnership with Mom's House, a local agency that provides daycare
so that women who chose life may continue their education (we believe that
birthmoms who choose to give their children the gift of life deserve our support
and assistance whether they choose to make an adoption plan or to parent).
- Special events and services througout the year to spotlight Sanctity of Life Month
(January), National Foster Care Month (May), National Adoption Month (November)
and the need to sponsor children throughout the world
We also have plans to develop informational workshops for prospective
adoptive parents both locally and throughout the region,
as well as workshops to help other churches join us
in our 'Adoption for Life' Ministry. We also are looking into
a mission trip to an orphanage overseas that will generate
a long-term ministry partnership.
